Jake Gyllenhaal’s Leaked Footage as a Fighter in New Movie ‘Road House’

Attendees of the UFC 285 last weekend were treated to a surprise when Jake Gyllenhaal and his film crew showed up to shoot scenes for his upcoming movie, ‘Road House’. The movie, which is a remake of the 1989 hit starring Patrick Swayze, features Gyllenhaal as a fighter.

The T-Mobile Arena facility in Paradise, Nevada hosted the competition where Gyllenhaal was seen participating in a weigh-in on Friday and a fight on Saturday, all in front of a real UFC audience. Many in attendance captured footage of Gyllenhaal in character and shared it on social media.

Filmed alongside Gyllenhaal was former UFC fighter Jay Hieron, who plays his opponent in the movie. Real-life fighter Conor Macgregor was also in attendance and was spotted chatting to the star later.

Gyllenhaal’s weight-in was filmed directly after the real weigh-in of fighters Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane. In character, Gyllenhaal was interviewed on stage and said of his opponent, “This fer just makes me laugh, ’cause he’s a fing joke. Let’s go. Just give me the belt. Just give it to me. Hand it to me.”

Hieron’s character responds with a confident “I promise you that’s the one and only hit you get. I’m putting you to sleep tomorrow night.”

Although this isn’t the first time Gyllenhaal has played a fighter on the big screen, having played a boxer in the 2015 movie ‘Southpaw’, his role in ‘Road House’ required another intense workout routine for the 42-year-old actor. However, it has certainly paid off, and he is convincing as a UFC competitor.

Directed by Doug Liman, the release date of ‘Road House’ is yet to be announced.
