A horrifying incident took place in the Pedra 90 neighborhood of Cuiabá on Thursday (16) when Emily Bispo da Cruz, a 20-year-old woman, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend. The entire act was captured on a security camera, and her four-year-old son witnessed the crime. After seeing his mother stabbed, the child sat beside her on a sidewalk while witnesses attempted to seek help.
Emily suffered from multiple stab wounds to her chest, abdomen, and arm and was rushed to the local clinic for treatment. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after being admitted. The prime suspect in the case is Antonio Aluízio da Conceição Marciano, a 20-year-old man who is currently on the run from the police.
The CCTV footage shows the suspect, riding a black motorcycle, approaching the victim and her son on foot. After a brief argument, Emily is stabbed multiple times, while her son remains close by holding her hand. The crime took place during the daytime, with multiple witnesses present at the scene. Emily’s friends revealed that she was taking her son to school when she was attacked.
“When I came out of my house, I saw her sitting on the sidewalk, covered in blood from head to toe. I rushed to her and saw that she had multiple stab wounds to her chest, belly, and ribs,” said a witness.
Threats and Fear
According to one of Emily’s friends, who wished to remain anonymous, the couple had been in an on-and-off relationship for a year. However, from the beginning, Antonio had exhibited signs of aggression.
“He had already shown signs of being a very violent person, but she liked him, so she got attached. It was a tumultuous relationship, and every time they got back together, the situation got worse,” said the friend.
Emily was afraid to report her partner due to the death threats she received and her fear for her son’s life, as per her friends.
“She was very afraid to report him, fearing that he would become angry, and something like what happened today would occur. She allowed the events to unfold out of fear because he constantly threatened her, saying that he would kill her son and her,” one of her friends stated.
